Meline ready for fresh start

After a standout prep career at North Miami Senior High School, current NDSCS CB Ted Meline (6-3, 195) could have gone almost anywhere, but he chose Tennessee because of it's tradition and because it plays in the SEC. However, after less than a year on campus, the talented athlete decided to move on and will play this season for the Wildcats with the hopes of moving on shortly thereafter...

"Things just didn't work out for me at Tennessee," Meline noted when he spoke with JCFootball com recently "Some of it was the change in the staff and some was me not getting it done (academically).

"I just decided I needed to get a fresh start and my high school coach is the one that got me hooked up here (at North Dakota State College of Sciences) "

Meline redshirted at Tennessee this past fall and then left Knoxville for spring semester

"Schools have been talking to me for a while since I left and got here," Meline said "I have offers from UCF, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and West Virginia right now and my coaches are talking to a lot of schools that are interested in me

"Oregon was a school I was really interested in when I was in high school and they are a school I'd like to hear from again and I'm looking at USC too "

Meline is huge for a corner, measuring in at 6'3", 195 pounds, and said he's been working on his technique and his speed and quickness this spring

"I like to let the game come to me," Meline said "I'm patient, but when I have the chance to make a play, I want to be explosive and sudden and get the ball back for my team "

Meline falls under the "4-2-4" rule that says a player who enrolls at a four-year school must complete his two-year degree before enrolling at another four-year school

He has loaded up on classes and credits and said he hopes to be eligible to sign with a school in December with three years to play three wherever he ends up
