One offer in the books for Pearl River WR

This spring, Pearl River WR Seth Roberts (6-3, 190) has been dealing with some family issues, but will return to school this summer to continue his studies while preparing for the 2011 football season. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented wideout recently and he updated us on things including which Big 12 school became the first to extend an offer to the talented wideout...

"I had to leave school to deal with some family stuff, so I didn't finish up spring football, but I took part in almost all of it," Roberts told JCFootball.com. "I know schools have been coming by and asking my coaches about me and I'll be back there in a couple weeks for summer quarter to finish up my classes so that I can graduate in December."

Even though he's been missing from school, Roberts did haul in an offer from a Big 12 school and two SEC schools are also showing a lot of interest.

"Oklahoma State offered me and Tennessee and Mississippi both were talking to me a lot before I left," Roberts said. "Other than that, I really don't know who is talking to my coaches about me. I'll find out more when I get back there."

As a freshman, Roberts led Pearl River in receiving yards (733) and touchdowns (6) and finished second in receptions with 44.

"They used me a lot on deep balls, but I started running more intermediate stuff as the season went along," Roberts said. "I'm working this offseason on getting a lot stronger so I can get off press-coverage better and be more explosive."

So far, Roberts hasn't received much attention from four-year schools, but hopes a good spring and summer will result in a lot more attention.

"I just want to find a good school for me and a good situation," Roberts noted. "I love to play football and I feel like I can play at the highest level."

Roberts expects to sign with a school in December and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
