Interest picks up in Beauvoir

Even though he has yet to take a snap in college, New Mexico Military DB Hersinne Beauvoir (5-11, 195) has seen recruiting start to pick up prior to the 2011 season...

"Things have been going well for me this summer," Beauvoir told JCFootball.com. "I've gotten my first D-1 schools showing interest which is really exciting for me.

"Louisiana Tech has talked to me a few times and I've started to get to know coach (Stan) Eggen really well. We've talked a couple of times.

"Southern Illinois and Buffalo are also recruiting me and I've talked to the DB coaches at both of those schools and I've talked to Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe too, so things are definitely picking up which just makes me want to work harder and show people what I can do."

Beauvoir does have two offers -- from Arkansas Monticello and Henderson State -- and says he realizes he needs to prove what he can do on the football field this fall.

"I redshirted last year, so this interest is coming just from what they saw from me in the spring," Beauvoir noted. "I know that I need to go out and prove what I can do, so that's a big focus for me this season."

Beauvior, who is Haitian, grew up in the states of Florida and Georgia, but after graduating from high school, he headed to a prep school in North Carolina to work on his academics as well as his football skills.

"After I finished up prep school, I signed with Valdosta State," Beauvior told JCFootball.com in March. "When I got there though, I knew I could play at a higher level, so I left and headed out here to New Mexico Military and I redshirted last fall."

Beauvior is on pace to finish his AA in December and he will have three to play three wherever he ends up.
