Timmons is ready to light it up

After spending two years in Austin, current East Central WR Greg Timmons (6-3, 208) decided he needed a change of scenery and this fall he hopes to show why he was such a highly sought-after prospect coming out of high school...

"I signed with Texas after I graduated (from Eisenhower High School in Houston) and things were going good for me," Timmons told JCFootball.com. "I started to struggle academically, so I just decided to leave and get a fresh start here at East Central and it feels like it has been the right move for me."

Timmons is a big, physical receiver who has the speed to get deep and the athleticism to go up and get the ball.

"I'm improving my route-running and just getting stronger," Timmons noted. "I just want the chance to show everyone what I can do and how important this game is to me."

So far, schools have only begun to realize that the former five-star prospect is back on the market and few SEC programs have started to show interest.

"Arkansas and Ole Miss are the main schools recruiting me right now," Timmons said. "I'm hearing from most of the SEC right now and that's where I'd like to end up, but I'm open to everyone who wants to recruit me."

Timmons is on pace to finish his AA degree in December and he will have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
