JCFootball.com: Top Running Backs (Updated)

As we head down the home stretch of the regular season, we here at JCFootball.com continue to highlight some of the top performers at each position on the football field. Today, we take a look at some of the top running backs in the country and some of the big numbers they've put up so far this season...

Blinn RB Marion Grice - Last week, in Blinn's big 40-37 win over a good Trinity Valley squad, Grice paced the Buccaneers' rushing attack with 154 yards and two scores. Grice, a big, punishing runner with enough speed to get outside, has 804 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season now and plenty of four-year programs eyeing his abilities.

Arizoa Western RB Damien Williams - Williams has put up monster numbers this season for teh Matadors, posting 1,185 yards and 18 touchdowns in seven games. Williams has made it known he'd like to end up signing with Arizona State, the school he signed with out of high school, but is also open to looking at other schools.

Glendale RB Jamil Hines - Hines has a compact frame going just 5'7, but weighing in at 215 pounds and this season he's put up some big numbers for the Gauchos posting 528 yards and six touchdowns.

Nassau RB Jamaal Jackson - The freshman tailback has been solid in his first season for the Lions posting nearly 600 yards rushing and five touchdowns in seven games.

Itawamba RB Keon McGaughy - McGaughy, a punishing runner with speed to break away from pursuers, carried the ball 28 times for 184 yards and two scores in Itawambas 42-27 win over Holmes. This season, the talented sophomore has posted 571 yards rushing and six touchdowns in seven games.

Mississippi Gulf Coast RB James Gillum - Gillum, a sophomore, had a great game in MGCC's 34-14 win over Copiah-Lincoln, carrying the ball 17 times for 126 yards and a score. This season, in six games, Gillum has posted nearly 650 yards rushing and five touchdowns in seven games.

Holmes RB Ladarius Redditt - This season Redditt has put up solid numbers for Holmes, posting 517 yards and seven scores including a 33-carry, 174-yard, two touchdown effort in last week's loss to Itawamba.

Iowa Central RB Jontel Clayton - The freshman back continues to make minced-meat of defenses this season, rushing for 967 yards and 10 scores Iowa Central this year.

Hutchinson RB Deveon Dinwiddie - Dinwiddie is having a huge freshman season and was big for the Blue Dragons last week in a 54-12 win over Garden City going for a 137 yards and a touchdowns. This season the talented runner has posted 579 yards and nine touchdowns and has kept defenses from keying on QB Eliot Alford who also has had a huge 2011 season.

Northland RB Johnell Wortham - In the pass-happy MCAC, Wortham leads the way on the ground with nearly 700 yards and nine touchdowns in eight games.

Chabot RB Jonathan Fulbright - Last week in a 38-24 win over Diablo Valley, Fulbright had a breakout game posting 132 yards rushing and three touchdowns. This season the sophomore has 345 yards and four scores.

Hartnell RB Alvin Jelks - In a 23-16 loss to Cabrillo, Jelks was the main man for Hartnell posting 157 yards and two scores. This season the big-back has 657 yards and nine touchdowns in six games.

West Hills RB Shane Cams - Cams is having a very good season for the Falcons so far posting 570 yards and three scores while splitting carries with freshman Cameron Boyd who also is having a big season with 509 yards and leading the team with six rushing touchdowns.

Allan Hancock RB Cameron Artis-Payne - The talented freshman is near the top of the rankings for rushing yards in the state of California totaling 756 yards and 12 touchdowns in just six games so far this season.

College of the Desert RB Jai Steib - As a sophomore, Steib has helped make COD's offense that much more potent by posting 564 yards and 12 touchdowns in six games this season.
