JCFootball.com: Top Quarterbacks (Updated)

As we head toward the playoffs, some JUCO signal-callers are really showing what they can do. JCFootball.com takes a look at just a few of them in today's look at the top prospects in the country at each position...

East Los Angeles QB Aaron Cantu - In a big 31-13 win over Mt. San Jacinto, the freshman signal-caller had a big game hitting on 24 of 33 pass attempts for 317 yards and three touchdowns. For the season, Cantu has completed 112 of 167 pass attempts for 1,295 yards with 10 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Blinn QB Eric Mathews - The redshirt freshman is having an outstanding season for the Bucs, posting nearly 600 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing while completing 103 of 151 pass attempts for 1,824 yards with 18 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Last week, in a thrilling 52-45 win over Kilgore, Mathews accounted for four touchdowns (one rushing, three passing) as well as 68 yards rushing and 332 yards passing.

Trinity Valley QB Tucker Carter - Carter has completed 118 of his 201 attempts (58.7%) for 1,763 yards, 19 touchdowns and six interceptions while leading the Cardinals to a 7-1 record.

Snow QB Adam Eastman - Eastman has had a solid redshirt freshman campaign, ranking fourth in the WSFL with 1,442 yards passing, completing over 57% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Badgers to a 7-1 record.

Hutchinson QB Elliott Alford - Alford hit on 22 of 34 passes for 210 yards, but didn't throw a touchdown and was intercepted once in the Blue Dragons' 28-10 loss to Butler over the weekend. Alford suffered a shoulder injury the day before and wasn't his typical self during the game against the Grizzlies. For the season, Alford has been outstanding completing 127 of 189 pass attempts for 1,853 yards with 25 touchdowns and only two interceptions.

Dodge City QB Bryan Parnes - The Conqs are on their way to the post season for the first time in five years, and Parnes' play has been a big reason as he's completed 190 of 350 attempts for 1,935 yards, 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Last week as DC3 defeated rival Garden City 22-14, their first win over the Broncbusters in 25 years, Parnes was outstanding going 28 of 42 for 331 yards and two touchdowns.

Grand Rapids QB Cody Kater - Kater continues to impress while leading the Raiders to a 9-0 record, hitting on nearly 70% of his passes for 1,972 yards, 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions.

Golden West QB Raymond Huizar - For the season the talented sophomore is has completed over 61% of his passes for 1,494, 14 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Riverside QB Dalton Livingston - In a 44-13 win over Golden West, Livingston had a typical game, going 25 of 38 for 300 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. For the season, the talented sophomore signal-caller has gone 120 of 202 for 1,644 yards with 21 touchdowns and only five interceptions while leading the Tigers to a perfect 7-0 record.

Santa Ana QB Andrew McDonald - McDonald had a big game last week in a thrilling 31-24 win over College of the Desert completing 18 of 26 pass attempts for 224 yards and two touchdowns. So far this season, the sophmore has gone 132 of 210 for 1,503 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for three more scores.

Moorpark QB Nick Owens - The redshirt sophomore has Moorpark thinking playoffs after leading them to a 4-3 record through seven weeks. This season, Owens has gone 117 of 213 for 1,536 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Fresno QB Lance Orender - Orender continues to put up big stats, completing 135 of his 233 pass attempts for 2,253 yards, 29 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Last week in a 34-21 win over Sierra, the sophmore threw for 271 yards and five touchdowns.

Monterey Peninsula QB David Fales - Fales has the Wolves on a five game winning streak after last week's 35-10 win over Cabrillo where he completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 275 yards and four touchdowns. For the season, the sophomore gun-slinger has completed 64% of his passes for 1,803 yards with 21 touchdowns and only six interceptions.

Butte QB Collin Ramirez - Butte blew out 17th-ranked Santa Rosa last week 48-7 and Ramirez led the way completing 13 of his 25 attempts for 328 yards with five touchdowns. This season the talented sophomore has completed 56.2% of his passes for 18 touchdowns and only four interceptions.
