Recruiting Update: L.A. Harbor

Over the past couple of seasons, L.A. Harbor has been one of the most explosive JUCO teams in the state of California and they've sent their fair share of players on to four-year schools. This fall, they've suffered some injuries and need to win their final two games to have a shot at a bowl game, but even with their struggles they still have several players who are garnering a lot of attention...

Head coach Brett Peabody gave JCFootball.com an update on all of his top prospects and also a couple of players who are just now starting to get some looks from four-year schools...

RB Theron West - "Theron tore it up in the first couple games, but he's missed two of our last four games while he's been dealing with an ankle sprain and he's still not completely healthy. He's got offers from Washington State, Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State and he's getting some attention from some other schools now too."

Stats: 541 yards, 6 TDs; 8 rec., 53 yards

OL Niu Sale - "He's still committed to Arizona State, but he's still got a majority of the Pac 12 interested in him and he's got offers from Arizona, Oregon State, Washington State and then Auburn and Arkansas too. He's real physical and he's been a rock for us inside."

TE Jacob Avery - "Jacob should have more than one offer, which he got from Bowling Green, but I think our inconsistency has hurt him a little bit. He's big and he's fast and he's got great hands. I expect a few more schools to offer him before he makes a decision. He's a really good player; really underrated."

Stats: 11 rec., 110 yards

WR Delvon Purvis - "Delvon has had a solid season for us. He's starting to get a few schools looking at him, but nothing major yet."

Stats: 14 rec., 206 yards, 1 TD

WR Lonnie Turner - "Lonnie is one of our top freshman wideouts and he's leading our team in receiving yards. He's quick and has good hands. Nevada and Bowling Green are looking at him right now."

Stats: 14 rec., 228 yards, 1 TD

WR Josh Brown - "Josh is our other freshman wideout getting some attention. He's big and physical and schools like Nevada have asked about him."

Stats: 6 rec., 97 yards, 1 TD

DE Austin Flynn - "One of the things holding people back on Austin has been his grades, but he's had a great year so far in that respect and he's gotten all A's so he's going to be fine. He's really buckled it down on that side and he's been great on the football field for us too. Oklahoma just offered on Wednesday and Oregon State just offered Thursday. He's got offers from Arkansas, Iowa State and Utah State too and Boise State is also taking a look at him."

Stats: 36 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss, 8 sacks

LB Elijah Sala - "Elijah has been solid for us this year. He's got an offer from Idaho as well as New Mexico State and Arizona and Boise State is looking at him a lot."

Stats: 33 tackles, 4 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks

LB Matt Willis - "Matt has had an amazing year for us and I think that will translate into a lot more schools looking at him. His only offer right now is from Utah State, but Nebraska is looking at him hard and Texas A&M is also really interested in him."

Stats: 99 tackles, 15.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks, 1 INT

CB Olawaola Falemi - "He's really stepped up his play this year. Akron has offered and there are a some other schools showing him a lot of interest."

Stats: 43 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, 1 INT, 3 PBU

LB Erik Kendle - "A lot of schools really like Erik, but he hasn't gotten an offer yet. I think he'll see things pick up as we finish out the season and he shows his abilities."

Stats: 37 tackles, 3 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks

Dan Bird - "He's having a heck of a season for us. He's really come on and schools like Indiana will be by to check all of our players out and he will be one of them."

Stats: 53 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks, 2 INT

DE/LB Kendle Warren - "We thought he was going to need to go D-2 because of his clock and grades, but he is now fully-qualified or will be as a D-1 guy so he is a name we are trying to get back out there. He's a solid football player and he's really focused in the classroom too and someone is going to get on him and get a steal because he's really a great player."

Stats: 21 tackles, 7 tackles-for-loss, 3 sacks

S Tim Moten - "Tim is having a good season for us and he's getting some sniffs from some schools, but right now that's about it on him. He's talented enough to play at the next level though, so I have a feeling more schools will start to pick things up with him."

Stats: 13 tackles
