Recruiting Update: Butte College

Butte has quite a few top performers on their roster this year and while one of their top players has nearly double-digit offers, several others are getting attention from some D-1 programs. JCFootball.com spoke with offensive coordinator Robbie Snelling recently and he updated us on where things stand...

OT Charles Siddoway - "He's Cal bounceback so you know he already had the talent to play at the highest level. He's had a great season for us. He has offers from Texas Tech, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Arkansas State, Florida International, Iowa State, San Diego State and maybe a couple of others. He's getting a lot of attention from schools like Auburn, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Arizona State and a few other schools too. He's a mid-year guy so a lot of schools are really after him hard."

Charles Siddoway Highlights
RB Tromaine Dennis - "Tromaine has had a great season for us. He's right at 1,000 yards in nine games. Indiana just called us about him, so they are interested and I think a few others are going to start getting in on him soon too."

Stats: 168 carries, 1,000 yards, 13 touchdowns

Tromaine Dennis Highlights

WR Robert Jiles - "Jiles has had a good season. He's been our top receiver as far as receptions go and he's a possibility to go back to Washington State, where he originally signed, but I've had a couple other schools call me about him and Iowa State has shown some interest in him too."

Stats: 22 receptions, 327 yards, 2 touchdowns

Tromaine Dennis Highlights

QB Collin Ramirez - "Collin has been great for us this season and is one of the top-ranked quarterbacks in the state. He's got 22 touchdowns and only five picks in nine games. He hasn't gotten a lot of attention yet, but he's a mid-year guy so I think as we wind down things will pick up on that side. Whoever gets him will be really happy."

Stats: 99 of 167, 1,695 yards, 22 touchdowns, 5 interceptions

Collin Ramirez Highlights

TE Jacob Corbaley - "I don't think we've used Jacob enough this year. He has 10 catches and five of them have gone for touchdowns, so he just makes plays. He's been solid all the way around -- blocking, route-running, catching the ball -- so he's someone I think will see things pick up. Memphis is already looking at him and he's a mid-year guy, so things will pick up for him."

Stats: 10 reception, 225 yards, 5 touchdowns

Collin Ramirez Highlights

C/G Patrick Hughes - "Patrick has had a real good season for us at center. He's had Hawaii and Arizona State asking about him the past couple weeks, so he's getting some interest, but I think more needs to come in because he's a smart kid and a good lineman."

G Nick Von Rotz - "Nick is another one that's had a real solid season for us. Sacramento State and Memphis like him a lot and there are a couple of other schools I think that are close to getting into the mix with him."

S Mycal Swaim - "Mycal is probably our top-recruited defensive player right now. He's had Nevada calling about him and also Sacramento State and Cal-Poly. He plays free safety for us and he's had a real good season."

Stats: 48 tackles, 4 interceptions, 9 passes defensed, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble, 1 blocked kick

Mycal Swaim Highlights

DE Gabe Bruno - "He's had a really good season and schools are just starting to take notice. We thought there might be a clock issue for him, so he still might need to go D-2, we're trying to work that out right now, but he's been really good this year off the edge. Sacramento State, Cal-Poly and Utah have all called about him."

Stats: 31 tackles, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumble, 2 blocked kicks

Gabe Bruno Highlights

DE Devin Flesher - "Devin has been great along with Bruno. They are on opposite sides of the line and they really cause a lot of problems. He hasn't seen as much attention as I think he deserves, but I think he will see it pick up in the next few weeks."

Stats: 27 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, 3 sacks

Devin Flesher Highlights

CB Craig Jeffery - "Craig is a May prospect, so he's got some time before recruiting really picks up for him. He's had a good season at corner for us though."

Stats: 27 tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception, 5 passes defensed

Devin Flesher Highlights
