West Hills ATH hoping to find a home

West Hills LB/S Antonio Rodgers (6-1, 215) had a solid season and has already graduated, but he has yet to find a place to play in 2012. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented defensive prospect and he updated us on where things stand...

"I've already graduated and I made the Dean's List," Rodgers told JCFootball.com recently. "I have some D-2s looking at me, but I think I can play at a higher level.

"I just love to play the game. I'm instinctive and I have a lot of awareness and football knowledge, so that helps me a lot."

Those instincts, along with his 4.5 speed, allowed Rodgers to post 67 tackles, three interceptions, four sacks, two fumbles and one fumble recovery that he took back for a touchdown.

Rodgers a native of North Miami Beach in Florida, qualified for D-2 schools after a solid prep career, but wanted a chance to play at a higher level, so he decided to head to California to play JC football with a friend.

"There is great competition out here and I had a friend who was here, so I came out and it's been a good experience for me," Rodgers said.

Rodgers hopes to sign with a school in February and will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
