Blinn's Ruben has two visits set

One of the top linemen in the SWJC this season was Blinn's Xavier Ruben (6-4, 310) and he has two visits set up and hopes to make a decision soon after taking them...

Ruben signed with Baylor after a great prep career at Baytown (Tx.) Lee High School, but he was unable to qualify.

"It was frustrating, but Blinn was a great opportunity for me to come in and get my academics straight and play for a great staff and program," Benson told JCFootball.com.

After starting every game at right guard the past two seasons, Ruben has two visits set up and then hopes to make a decision on where he will spend the next two years.

"I have offers from Akron, West Texas A&M and Tarleton State," Ruben said. "I'm going to visit Tarlton this coming weekend (January 20th) and West Texas A&M on the 27th and then I'm hoping to decide.

"I'd really like to stay in state, here in Texas, because my whole family is here and I'd love to play in front of them all the time. That's what I'm looking to do."

Ruben plans to sign with a school on February 1st and will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
