Palepoi's stock is rising fast

A player whose stock has risen through the roof over the past month is Snow DT Tenny Palepoi (6-2, 280) and this past weekend he was in Provo to visit BYU. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented interior defensive line prospect recently and he updated us on where things stand...

"Oh yeah, it was a great visit there," Palepoi told JCFootball.com. "I loved the atmosphere and the program. I took my brother with me and he's a huge BYU fan, so it was great for him to see it all up close too.

"We had a blast."

In addition to his visit to and offer from BYU, Palepoi has also received offers from Utah State, Utah and Washington and is getting a lot of interest from Washington State.

"I've already taken a visit to Utah State (Jan. 7th) and I was going to visit Washington this week, but I'm going to visit Utah instead," Palepoi noted. "I haven't decided if I will visit Washington yet or not, but if I do it would be that last weekend before Signing Day."

As a prep, Pelepoi enjoyed a great career at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, but he was unable to qualify, so he decided to head to Snow to get his academics in order while playing a little football.

Palepoi started as a true freshman in 2009 and totaled 58 tackles, five tackles-for-loss and five sacks, but shortly before the start of his sophomore season in 2010, he tore the MCL in his left knee.

"That was my redshirt season and I committed to Utah State that year, but I wasn't able to get in academically, so I came back this year and played," Palepoi noted.

This season, while playing end in the Badgers' 3-4 scheme, Palepoi ended up with 49 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss and two sacks.

"I play the run probably better than I rush the quarterback, but I can do both really well," Palepoi said. "I'm in good shape and I want to keep playing so I'll take this visit this weekend and see where I'm at in making my decision."

Palepoi is on pace to graduate in May and will have two years to play two wherever he ends up.
