Holland mulling over options

Heading into last season, one of the top JUCO edge-rushers was Victor Valley LB/DE Daniel Holland (6-3, 235). He has garnered attention from some four-year schools and has trips planned over the next couple weeks so he can make his college decision...

"I have an offer from Bethune-Cookman and Western Kentucky right now and Washington State is trying to get me up for a visit to see me in person," Holland told JCFootball.com recently. "I'm visiting Bethune-Cookman this weekend and then I need to figure out if I will take a visit to Western Kentucky or possibly Washington State next weekend.

"I'm not real sure right now, but that's sorta what has been going on."

As a freshman in 2010, Holland had a monster season, totaled 37 tackles and 9.5 sacks, but this season, with defenses keying on him, he was only able to manage 40 tackles and two sacks.

s a freshman in 2010, Holland played the weakside (WIL) linebacker position and racked up 37 tackles and 9.5 sacks.

"We run a 3-3-5 so I was sort of a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end," Holland said. "What I do best is get to the quarterback. I love rushing the passer and making plays that way for my team.

"I pursue really well because I have good speed (4.47) and I never give up on plays."

Holland will graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

We will have more in the coming weeks as he gets closer to making his decision.
