Agwuenu still finishing things up

After signing with Arizona State last month, Mt. San Antonio WR Alonzo Agwuenu (6-4, 210) thought he'd mapped out the next two years of his life, however, one class has kept him from enrolling there and he's currently working on getting that done so he can re-sign with them on February 1st...

"I didn't pass a communications class that I was taking and I had to re-take it," Agwuenu told Tuesday night. "I'm enrolled in a six-week class online that should take care of it and I'm about halfway through that right now."

With him unable to enroll, the question then becomes, are the Sun Devils coaches still keen on signing him?

"I've been talking to them through the whole process and they still want me," Agwuenu said. "They said they need me in there, so that's what I'm planning to do."

While he still has his eyes on winding up in Tempe, Az., other schools have made pitches to get him to look their way and he even had a visit scheduled for last weekend.

"I was all set to visit Oklahoma this past weekend, but then I thought about it and decided I wanted to be at Arizona State," Agwuenu said. "I was also getting pressure from Oregon to visit too and Kansas State and Kansas and Texas Tech all were calling and wanting me to come on visits.

"I still want to sign with ASU though and that's what I plan to do on February 1st."

As a sophomore this past season, Agwuenu was a key reason the Mounties ended up in the California State Championship Game, hauling in 73 receptions for 1,025 yards and 19 touchdowns.

He will have two years to play two when he arrives on campus.
