Recruiting Update - Alfred State

Alfred State finished the season 6-4 this season and had some top players on their roster. A couple have already committed while still other are contemplating their futures and head coach Mick Caba updated us on where things currently stand...

C Dominic Sylvester - Started as a freshman for the Pioneers and has committed to UAB.

CB Brett Harrington - Only played in four games, but did managed to post nine tackles and two interceptions. Committed to Western Kentucky earlier this week.

P Colter Johnson - Averaged nearly 39 yards per punt and had a long of 66 yards. Big leg and good hang-time. Johnson is currently mulling an offer from Virginia Tech.

WR Devin Simmons - Simmons is huge, measuring in at 6-5, 230 pounds, but he's very fluid and has strong hands. He could be an H-Back or a tight end, depending on the scheme, but he played wideout for Alfred State last season and led the team with 49 receptions for 743 yards and 10 touchdowns. Simmons remains uncommitted, but he does have an offer from Bowling Green that he is contemplating.

WR Tavon Moore - The ultra-quick wideout mainly played out of the slot for the Pioneers this season and hauled in 25 receptions for 449 yards and four scores. He has an offer from Florida Atlantic and is getting attention from several other programs.

OL Glenn Garrett - Handled duties outside at the left tackle spot this past season and showed outstanding technique. Currently has an offer from Bethune-Cookman and is getting attention from several other FCS programs.

LB Rory Spain - Played the middle linebacker spot for the Pioneers in 2011 and finished with 56 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, two sacks, on interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He is tripping to Akron this weekend and hopes to see an offer before he returns home.
