Harrington headed to WKU

One of the top cover corners in JUCO football this season was Alfred State CB Brett Harrington (6-1, 190) and recently he opted to commit to Western Kentucky after considering offers from two MAC programs...

"I had offers from Buffalo and Akron and Western Kentucky and I took a trip there and really liked it so I committed to (Western Kentucky)," Harrington told JCFootball.com recently. "I committed there (last) week and they were really excited to have me come and be part of it.

"After I took a trip there, my parents and I sat down and we decided that Western Kentucky was the best place for me and a place that I could really do well at."

Due to an injury, Harrington only played in four games but did manage to post nine tackles and two interceptions.

"I have good cover skills," Harrington noted. "I run a low 4.4 forty time. I've always been fast and I can read things well and that allows me to make plays."

As a prep in Upstate New York, Harrington as a four-time state champion on the track, posting a 14.10 100-meter hurdles which ranked in the top 10 in the country at the prep level in 2009.

"I signed with Lake Erie College after I graduated and I was there for a year, but I felt like I could play at a higher level," Harrington said. "I just wanted that chance and coming here to Alfred State was the right move for me."

Because Harrington falls under the "4-2-4" rule, he will not be able to join his new team until the summer. When he does arrive he will have three years to play two when he steps on campus.
