Doston is ready to make his mark

Last season, because he transferred from another JC program, College of the Sequoias CB Darren Doston (6-1, 195) had to sit out, but he's poised and ready for a big 2012 football season and the talented corner prospect already has two offers and more could be on the way...

Doston prepped at Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, Florida and was unable to qualify for a D-1 scholarship.

He enrolled at Dean College in Massachusetts, but then headed west and found a home with the Giants.

"I had to sit out last year because I didn't have enough credits when I transferred," Dotson told JCFootball.com recently. "It was really hard sitting out last fall, but it just motivated me to get ready for this year so I can have the best year possible."

On the recruiting front, Doston has already hauled in two offers and more schools are showing him a lot of interest.

"I have offers from Houston and Iowa State and a few other schools seem like they could be close," Doston said. "Oklahoma State just started talking to me a lot and I've been talking to Missouri, Kentucky, Utah, UCLA, San Diego State and California.

"I'm going to take my visits before I make my decision, but I am hoping to get a lot of options before I'm ready to make my decision."

Doston is all set to graduate in December and he will have three years to play following the 2012 football season.
