Four early offers for Lackawanna's Wallace

Lackawanna is always loaded with talented prospects and this year is no different. Up front, along the offensive line, resides one of the top players at his position and so far four schools have already offered OL Marquis Wallace...

"I have offers from Houston, East Carolina, Kansas and I just got Pittsburgh," Wallace told JCFootball.com.

Wallace prepped at Varina (Richmond, Va.) High School and signed with West Virginia after a solid prep career, however, he didn't have enough core credits so he had to go the JUCO route.

"I had 15.5 credits and I needed 16 so I was enrolled at West Virginia and then I had to leave," Wallace told JCFootball.com. "I originally went to Blinn, but then my mom got sick and I had to come back closer to home.

"She lives in New Jersey now, so I looked around and Lackawanna was the school that was closest to her."

As a freshman last season, Wallace played all over the Falcons' line, replacing All-American Mark Glowinski early in the year.

"I was mainly at left guard for us, but I filled in for Mark a little when he needed a rest. I also played some right tackle and right guard too," Wallace said.

On the recruiting front, Wallace has yet to earn himself an offer, but schools have come calling and he could be close to an offer from several of them.

With his versatility, expect more and more schools to enter the fray in the very near future.

Wallace is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2012 football season.
