McAlindon has a decision to make

One of the top JUCO quarterbacks from this past season, American River's Jason McAlindon (6-5, 215), took a visit to Louisiana Tech this past weekend and now that he's back home, he has a big decision to make...

"I took an official visit to Louisiana Tech over the weekend and while I was there, they offered me," McAlindon told "It was a really great visit. I met with coach Sonny Dykes and coach (Tony) Franklin and we talked about things.

"They are great coaches and great guys and they showed me everything. It was a really great visit."

However, even though he had a great time on his trip, McAlindon admitted that he needed to get home and think about things before he could make a decision.

"It's a great situation for me, but I wanted to think about things," McAlindon said. "I needed to make sure it was the place I wanted to be for the next three years and I just wanted to think about it.

"I could still return for this fall here at American River and that's a big consideration too, just because I like it here and I think we are building something here, but to play D-1 that is really hard to pass up. Like I said, I just needed to come home and think about things."

McAlindon said he plans to make his decision in the next couple of days.

Should he sign with Louisiana Tech, he will have four years to play three.
