Bibbs is up to seven offers

A player already seeing quite a bit of interest from four-year schools this spring is Arizona Western TE Emmanuel Bibbs (6-3, 245) and he has the offers to prove it. JCFootball.com got the scoop on which schools have thrown their hats in the ring and what it is that makes him such a hot commodity...

Bibbs was a standout prep at Bogan High School in Illinois and after signing with Iowa, he redshirted in the fall of 2010, doing his best to add muscle and get ready to the rigors of the college game.

"My high school was a small school in Illinois, so I had a lot of things to work on to get ready to play ball at that level," Bibbs admitted to JCFootball.com recently. "I just didn't get it done and struggled when I got there. I needed a fresh start and people said Arizona Western was a great place to come to and get things straight so I did and I'm on pace to be ready to go this December."

As a freshman for Matadors last fall, Bibbs wasn't used much only hauling in six receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown, but he said this fall he hopes to be a much bigger presence in the offense.

"There are so many playmakers here on the offense, you have to just work hard and make sure you're ready when your number is called," Bibbs acknowledged. "I really want to be an all-around tight end and my blocking is what I'm really focused on getting to an elite level. I've been working on my strength and my footwork and just getting better in that area.

"I'm still working on my routes, catching passes and on my speed, but my blocking is what I am really working a lot on this offseason."

On the recruiting front, Bibbs already has offers from several schools and more could be on the way.

"I have offers from Arkansas, Memphis, Western Michigan, Northern Iowa, Iowa State, San Diego State and Texas Tech," Bibbs said. "I've also been talking to Oklahoma a lot so they are another school that seems to like me."

Bibbs is on pace to finish things up academically this December and he will have two years to play two following the 2012 season.
