Cerritos DT plans to sign with Colorado State

Cerritos DT Lawrence Lehauli (6-1, 280) will graduate later this month and was waiting on an offer from a four-year school. That offer came earlier this week and with that in hand, he plans to visit Colorado Spring later this week and as long as things go well, he will sign with Colorado State shortly thereafter...

"I got offered by Colorado State recently," Lehauli told JCFootball.com. "I was waiting for an offer and they stepped up.

"I really like the coaches a lot and I think their system will fit me perfectly. I'm going to visit there on Thursday (May 10th) and as long as things go how I expect them to, I'll be signing and enrolling there this summer."

As a sophomore this past season, Lehauli played the three-technique, pass-rushing defensive tackle spot for the Falcons and racked up 25 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss and three sacks.

"I'm good at everything," Lehauli said without a hint of bravado. "I feel like I can rush the quarterback and stop the run. Whatever my team needs me to do, that's what I did my best to do."

Lehauli prepped at Paramount (Ca.) High School and was unable to qualify for a scholarship, so he headed to Cerritos to continue his football career.

"I felt like this was the right place for me," Lehauli said. "It was close to home and a place I felt like I could get better at."

Lehauli redshirted in 2009 so he will have two years to play two once he arrives on campus.
