Schools are waiting for King to graduate

Eastern Arizona DT Brandon King (6-4, 310) has been working hard to graduate this summer so he can have four years to play three with whichever school he decides to sign with and because of that he already has several schools interested in adding him to their roster. Here is a look at the big, physically gifted defensive lineman and what he has to offer...

King prepped at Stockbridge (Ga.) High School and then enrolled at Oak Ridge Academy, a prep school, to help get himself qualified.

"I had bad test scores, I just couldn't get the one I needed," King admitted to "I went to Oak Ridge to get qualified, but I decided to come here to Eastern Arizona to get my academics in order and to just get away from everything so I could get qualified."

As a freshman this past fall, King saw time in the EAC defensive line rotation and registered 18 tackles and two sacks.

"I played more nose tackle, but I played some D-tackle too," King said. "I can do both pretty well. I'm strong and I use my hands pretty well. I persue well too."

On the recruiting front, since schools are just starting to discover that the talented prospect is available to graduate this summer and becaue of that he hasn't garnered the attention he probably deserves.

"Northern Illinois has offered me and so has Savannah State," King said. "Grambling State and Georgia State are both talking to me and Western Michigan also is recruiting me, but they are all waiting to see if I can get out this summer.

"Once I get my degree, most of them will offer me and I'm hoping more schools will realize I get out this summer and can be at their school for this season."

As long as he finishes up his degree this summer, King will have four years to play three wherever he ends up.

We will continue to keep in touch with King over the next few months and will update news as it happens with him.
