NW Mississippi DT has three offers

After a solid freshman season for Northwest Mississippi, DT Jerome McClain (6-2, 285) has already hauled in three offers and more schools could be close to jumping in the mix. JCFootball.com got the scoop on which programs are showing the most interest and what it is that he does best on the field...

"I'm pretty balanced, but if I had to choose something, it would probably be my pass rush," McClain told JCFootball.com recently. "I've been working really hard this year on my speed and my strength. I want to be more explosive and quicker too."

As a freshman this past season, McClain had a solid season posting 28 tackles and three sacks from his defensive tackle spot.

"I was mainly at the defensive tackle, three-technique spot," McClain noted. "My team relied on me to get push, get some pressure on the quarterback and that's what I set out to do every week."

So far, three schools have offered the talented lineman and two more schools could be close to offering as well.

"I have offers from Indiana, South Alabama and Minnesota right now," McClain said. "South Florida and Florida International also like me a lot and have been recruiting me. I know there are some more, but those are the ones that like me the most."

McClain prepped at Pensacola (Fl.) High School and expected to sign with Florida Atlantic, but was unable to qualify. He sat out 2010 and joined Northwest Mississippi in the spring of 2011.

He will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
