ASA's Hollin has two early offers

The ASA defense is loaded with talented players this year and one that is starting to pop up on recruiting radars is DE Desmond Hollin (6-4, 260). With two early offers to his name, the talented defensive end is a player to watch this summer and he recently updated JCFootball.com on what he's been up to as well as what his plans are this summer...

Hollin, a graduate of Southridge High School in Miami, Florida, was a solid prep and committed to New Mexico, but was unable to qualify, so he decided to head north to continue his football career and to get his academics in order.

"I just wanted a place to play ball and ASA was a great opportunity for me to get away from home and to get some good coaching," Hollin told JCFootball.com. "I've been really happy with my decision to come here and it's been a great experience for me."

As a freshman this past season, Hollin played in most of ASA's games, posting 25 tackles and six sacks.

"I'm probably at my best rushing the quarterback," Hollin noted. "My 'get off' is really good and I never give up getting after the quarterback.

"I'm good at stopping the run, but I want to get better at that. I've been working on getting stronger so I can hold up more against the run and that is something that should make a big difference for me."

On the recruiting front, Hollin has seen recruiting pick up over the past few weeks with two offers coming in and more schools showing him they like what he brings to the table.

"Kansas just offered me last weekend and I got an offer from Purdue a little while ago too," Hollin said. "The other schools recruiting me right now are mainly South Florida, I've talked to them a couple of times, Rutgers and Maryland and there's a couple more, but those are the main ones."

Hollin is on pace to complete his AA degree in May and will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
