Strong looking good this offseason

Even though he has yet to play a down of college football, L.A. Pierce WR Jaelen Strong (6-4, 200) has already garnered offers from seven schools and he's ready to show people what he can do this fall in the hopes of earning even more...

Strong was a standout prep at West Catholic High School in Philadelphia (Pa.) and he was lightly recruited due to his academics, so a friend, Gerald Bowman, told him he should head west to get things in order.

"He said I should come and play with him out in L.A. so I figured I would go and get away from home and get my academics in order and play some ball," Strong told JCFootball.com recently. "It's been a good move for me, but I definitely can't wait to play this year."

Strong greyshirted this past season for the Brahmas, so he doesn't have any stats to go off of, but at 6'4" and weighing in at a little over 200 pounds and possessing 4.46 speed, he's already garnered plenty of attention from four-year schools who liked him in high school and have already offered.

"I have offers from Purdue, Arizona, Arizona State, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Mississippi and Miami right now," Strong said. "I have some other schools looking at me too, but those are the ones that have offered me so far."

Strong had a solid spring for Pierce and he's been hard at work this offseason, perfecting his craft.

"I just want to get better at everything," Strong said. "It was hard sitting out last year, so I wanted to get stronger, faster and more elusive too. It's been a good offseason."

Because he greyshirted, Strong is way ahead on credits and said he is on pace to graduate next June with four years to play three following the 2012 season.

We will continue to keep track of his progress and we will update news as it happens.
