Snow's Allen is ready to run wild in 2012

One of the more dynamic runners in the JUCO ranks this year is Snow RB Breon Allen (5-8, 180) and after a solid freshman campaign, he's ready to bust out in 2012. caught up with the multi-talented tailback recently and he updated us on things...

Allen prepped at Warner Christian Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, and didn't get a lot in the way of recruiting attention, so he headed to Snow and has shown why he needs to get heavy consideration from four-year schools this fall.

Last season, while splitting carries with the now graduated Alamoti Vaenuku, Allen rushed for 771 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is lightning in a bottle, possessing 4.4 speed, but he also admitted to recently that he loves to block and the film shows that the Badgers will use him in a number of different roles - blocker, slot receiver, tailback, returner.

"I love doing it all," Allen told "My coaches like to use me all over the place, but this year I'll be running it a lot more because last year I had to rotate with a sophomore (Vaenuku), so this year I'm looking forward to getting more carries, more touches, so I can help my team any way that I can."

In preparation for the increased workload, Allen said he's been focused on several things including getting even faster.

"My speed is good, but I definitely want it to be better," Allen noted. "I've also been working on keeping my knees up because I got ankle-tackled a lot last year and I'm not going to let that happen again this year."

On the recruiting front, things have been a bit slow for the dynamic tailback, but he said a couple of schools have made contact.

"I get letters from a few schools, but Utah State and San Jose State are the two that are really recruiting me the most right now," Allen admitted.

He is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
