JCFootball.com - Top QB Performances

A look at some of the top quarterback performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

Iowa Western QB Jake Waters - Waters, a preseason All-American candidate, is off to a great start so far this season, leading the Reivers to two wins and 160 points, by completing 75.9% of his passes for 596 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception. In last week's 83-22 win over New Mexico Military, Waters went 34 of 45 for 414 yards with four touchdowns and suffered the one pick.

L.A. Pierce QB Nick Arbuckle - Arbuckle, a freshman, was nearly unstoppable for the Brahmas last week in their 42-26 win over Victor Valley. He completed 21 of his 33 passes for 404 yards and threw for five touchdowns while being picked off twice. He also rushed for 35 yards and a score as well.

Itawamba QB Andrew Goodman - The Indians slammed the door shut on East Central last week, racking up 485 yards of offense in their 35-13 win. Goodman had a huge game, going 31 of 37 for 358 yards and five touchdowns on the day.

Saddleback QB Tim Belman - The Gauchos fell 51-48 to Mt. San Antonio, but Belman was a huge reason they were in it as the freshman signal-caller went 48 of 64 for 414 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Mt. San Antonio QB Nick Montana - The Washington bounceback had a great first game for the Mounties, hitting on 20 of his 29 pass attempts for 330 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in leading them to the win over Saddleback.

Diablo Valley QB Quinn Kaehler - The award for the biggest day last weekend, at least statistically, goes to Kaehler who went 34 of 57 for 459 yards while throwing for four touchdowns and two interceptions in the Vikings thrilling 48-41 loss to City College of San Francisco.

De Anza QB Joshua McCain - The Dons got their 2012 season off to a great start with a 44-17 win over San Jose City College and McCain was stellar hitting on 19 of his 33 pass attempts for 283 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.

Hutchinson QB Luke Barnes - Last year, the Blue Dragons were led by Elliott Alford who had a huge sophomore season. Barnes is doing his best to replace that productivity after putting up solid numbers in their first two games - 51 of 81 (63.0%) for 705 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions.

Cisco QB Ross Hudson - Even though Cisco lost to Garden City 24-19, Gilbert had a solid game, hitting on 32 of his 58 attempts for 304 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

Northeastern Oklahoma QB Clayton Mitchem - In the Golden Norsemen's 36-12 win over Highland, Mitchem was instrumental, completing 21 of his 28 attempts for 351 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 70 yards and two more scores.
