Delva talks about visit to Oregon State

Taking in one of the biggest shockers of the season so far, it is safe to say that Antelope Valley DT Edwin Delva (6-3, 290) enjoyed every minute of his official visit to Oregon State over the weekend. JCFootball.com spoke to the talented defensive lineman recently and he updated us on how things went as well as what other school he has an official visit scheduled to...

"It was a really fun time," Delva admitted to JCFootball.com. "The game was great. I actually got caught up in it all and I ran down on the field afterwards. It's kinda embarrassing, but it was a great moment and something that was fun to share with everyone."

In addition to watching the game, Delva said he spent time with his host, DT Brandon Bennett, while also meeting the coaches and seeing the campus.

"I did everything you could want to do," Delva noted. "It was great just meeting all the coaches, spending time with the players, enjoying the game day atmosphere and seeing what they have to offer.

"They definitely gave me a lot to think about, but I want to take my officials, make sure all of the schools I'm interested in I get to see."

In addition to his offer from Oregon State, Delva also has offers from BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, New Mexico State, Utah, Pittsburgh, Purdue, San Jose State, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Washington State.

"The only other visit I have right now is to Tennessee over the Thanksgiving weekend," Delva said. "The rest of my visits will need to be after my season, since I play for nine straight weeks now that our bye is over."

As a freshman last fall, Delva was nearly unstoppable up front for the Marauders, totaling 29 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss and four sacks and this year, in AV's one game, he posted six tackles and a tackle-for-loss.

He will graduate in December and will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
