(9/17/2012) A look at some of the top quarterback performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

Fresno QB Mike Baker - The Rams are off to a 3-0 start after last week's thrilling 28-24 win over Reedley. Baker was outstanding in the win over the Tigers, hitting on 15 of his 24 pass attempts for 294 yards and four touchdowns. For the season, the talented freshman is 44 of 71 for 661 yards with nine touchdowns and only two interceptions.

CCSF QB Andrew Spivey - Spivey has CCSF off to a 3-0 start and the top ranking in the state. This past weekend he didn't play much in the Rams 71-6 win over West Hills, but in his short stint on the field, he completed 11 of his 13 pass attempts for 137 yards and two touchdowns. So far this season, the talented signal-caller is 57 of 97 for 816 yards with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions.

College of the Sequoias QB Tyler Ferguson - The talented freshman is off to a great start for the Giants, hitting on 66 of his 113 attempts while throwing for 896 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. In their win this past Saturday, a 57-24 beating of Los Medanos, Ferguson went 17-of-31 passing for 261 yards and four touchdowns.

Santa Ana QB Hayden Gavett - The diminutive freshman played huge for the Dons last week in their 45-16 win over Moorpark, going 13 of 18 for 223 yards and four touchdowns. On the season so far, Gavett has been super-efficient hitting on 38 of his 65 attempts for 562 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions.

Mt. San Antonio QB Nick Montana - Montana had a solid game in the Mounties' 20-8 win over Cerritos, going 25 of 33 for 320 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. For the season the Washington bounceback is 58 of 83 for 745 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

Santa Monica QB Alfonso Medina - Medina has been solid in Santa Monica's 2-1 start and last week he put up solid numbers in their 45-34 win, going 19 of 31 for 192 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.

Pearl River QB Dylan Favre - The sophomore signal-caller has made the most of his opportunities to shine this season, going 80 of 134 for 866 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. In Pearl River's 39-34 loss to nationally ranked Jones, Favre went 21 of 36 for 248 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

College of Dupage Byron Dawkins - The Chaparrals are off to a 3-1 start and Dawkins is a big reason why. The talented signal-caller has gone 52 of 82 for 764 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

Iowa Western QB Jake Waters - We could seeminly put Waters in every one of these updates, but you can't ignore what he was able to do last week in the Rievers' 65-21 win over a previously unbeaten College of Dupage squad, going 19 of 24 for 307 yards with five touchdowns and one pick in the first half. So far this season the talented signal-caller has gone 78 of 108 for 1,121 yards with 16 touchdowns and only two interceptions.

Butler QB Billy Cosh - The Grizzlies just destroyed Independence last week, notching a 84-7 victory and Cosh had a huge first half, going 22 of 31 for 391 yards with three touchdowns. So far this season, the talented sophomore is 78 of 124 for 1,201 for 10 touchdowns and four interceptions, while leading Butler to a 4-0 record and number two ranking nationally.
