Jenkins-Moore says he's a Jayhawk

Last weekend, while visiting Kansas, L.A. Pierce LB Marcus Jenkins-Moore (6-3, 215) felt right at home and very recently, he made the call to become a Jayhawk. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented prospect and he told us why he decided to end the recruiting process and also which other Big 12 school he wants to see...

"I committed to Kansas," Jenkins-Moore confirmed to JCFootball.com Friday morning. "I loved my time there and the staff there was great. I just felt like I had 'the keys to the city' you know, I am the guy they wanted and they were really excited when I committed.

"Of all the schools that have offered me, there is no question about it, they were the school recruiting me the hardest. I wanted to be part of the change there. They are changing their culture and I wanted to be part of that."

As far as his commitment status, Jenkins-Moore made it clear he wants to be a Jayhawk and he is planning to enroll there after he graduates next spring. However, he did admit that he plans to take at least one more official visit.

"Believe it or not, I am expecting to visit Kansas State when they play Texas (December 1st)," Jenkins-Moore noted. "I still am committed to Kansas and all that, but you only get to do this once and I want to see as much as I can before I sign."

Jenkins-Moore chose the Jayhawks over offers from Kentucky, Arizona State, New Mexico State, Arizona, Arkansas, Boise State, Florida International,Kansas State, Memphis, Mississippi, Ohio State, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, San Diego State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah, Utah State, Washington State and Western Michigan.

Jenkins-Moore used his solid tackling skills to post 29 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack while playing in eight games this past season.

He is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
