Penn State gets in the mix for JUCO QB

Even after a huge freshman season, Iowa Western QB Jake Waters (6-2, 215) entered the 2012 season without an offer. Things have certainly changed on that front over the last two weeks and now, a month into the season, he's up to four offers and his latest comes from a school that rarely offers JUCO players...

"Jake received an offer from Penn State today," Iowa Western assistant coach Mike Strohmeier told JCFootball.com.

The offer from the Nittany Lions joins full rides from North Carolina State, Kansas State and Akron and he's seen interst from several other BCS schools pick up as well.

So far this season, Waters has been outstanding, completing over 73% of his passes for 1,696 yards with a ridiculous 22 touchdowns to only three interceptions.

He has led his team to a 6-0 record and the top ranking in the country in the NJCAA.

Waters was a full-qualifier out of high school, so he will finish up his sophomore season with the Reivers and sign with a school in December. Wherever he ends up he will have three years to play two seasons of football.
