(10/12/2012) A look at some of the top defensive line performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team so far this season. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

Cerritos DT Kyle Peko - Peko has been drawing double-teams since the beginning of the season, but has still managed to total 21 tackles and three sacks on the season.

Ventura DE Herbert Monroe - The talented sophomore defensive end had eight tackles, three sacks, four tackles-for-loss two pass break ups as VC beat Saddleback 21-14, for the first victory over the Gauchos in the program's history. Monroe leads Ventura with six sacks and has also totaled 26 tackles and 10 tackles-for-loss.

Riverside DT Ajay Fanene - In what was desscribed as a "dominant defensive performance" Fanene posted three tackles, one tackle-for-loss one sack, nine hurries and one pass break-up in Riverside's 45-28 win over Fullerton.

Sacramento DT Keivaughn Barrett - Barrett had eight tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in the Panthers' 41-15 win over Merced last weekend. The sophomore leads his team in sacks (4.5) and tackles-for-loss (eight) and also has 40 tackles from his interior defensive line spot.

Diablo Valley DE Kitione Kulu - Kulu has been a stud off the edge for the Vikings racking up 21 tackles, five sacks and eight tackles-for-loss in six games.

Bakersfield DE John Oglesby - The Fresno State bounceback had a huge game last week in Bakersfield's 40-13 win over El Camino, posting six tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles-for-loss in the victory.

Northeast Mississippi DT Lavon Hooks - Hooks had a solid game last week in Northwest Mississippi's 21-17 win over Coahoma, totaling seven tackles and a sack. So far this season, the physically gifted sophomore has racked up 35 tackles and nine sacks to go along with 11 tackles-for-loss.

Iowa Western DE Landon Schultz - Schultz, a freshman, has been a star for the Reivers this year, really making his presence felt off the edge by posting 11 tackles and an amazing eight sacks on the season. Last week, in his team's 81-14 win over Arkansas Baptist, Schultz posted three tackles and three sacks on the day.

Fort Scott DE William Bland - The talented freshman has been outstanding for the Greyhounds this season, totaling 25 tackles and six sacks including three tackles and 1.5 sacks in Fort Scott's 54-17 win over Independence last weekend.

Georgia Military DT Octavius Brown - Brown has done his job well this season, holding strong at the point of attack and demanding double-teams from his nose tackle position and has totaled 28 tackles, one sack and two tackles-for-loss so far this season.

Central Lakes DE Dacotah Thompson - Thompson has been a real terror off the edge for Central Lakes this season, racking up 26 tackles and a nation-leading 12 sacks including last week's eight tackle three sack effort in Central Lakes' 53-7 win over Vermilion.

Copiah-Lincoln DE Jerrell Jordan - Jordan had a huge game last week in Co-Lin's 17-14 win over Itawamba, notching 10 tackles and sack. In six games so far this season, the talented sophomore has posted 41 tackles and three sacks.

Kilgore DE Cooper Washington - The freshman leads the Rangers in sacks with four and has also posted 29 tackles.

College of DuPage DE Tracey Key - In four games, Key has posted 11 tackles and a team-leading five sacks.

Lackawanna DE Tedroy Lynch - Lynch has been a stud for the Falcons so far this season, posting 15 tackles and six sacks in six games.
