(10/25/2012) A look at some of the top quarterback performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

East Mississippi QB Quez Johnson - Johnson hit on 30 of his 44 attempts for 381 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions while also rushing for 114 yards and three touchdowns as well in leading the Lions to a 56-49 win over Northwest Mississippi last weekend. This season the sophomore signal-caller has completed 56.8% of his passes for 2,112 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions while also rushing for 299 yards and nine touchdowns as well.

Northwest Mississippi QB Domonique Harris - Harris nearly matched Johnson's performance, but his was in a losing effort going 23 of 43 for 421 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 35 yards as well. The sophomore quarterback has completed 58.6% his passes for 1,753 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 65 yards and two more scores and has led the Rangers to a 6-1 record.

Garden City QB Nick Marshall - Marshall, a redshirt freshman, has had a huge season for the Broncbusters so far this year, hitting on 58.8% of his passes for 2,168 with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also leads his team in rushing with 714 yards and 13 scores well. Last weekend, in Garden City's 61-20 win over Dodge City last Saturday by going 17 of 29 for 292 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for another 82 yards.

Iowa Western QB Jake Waters - Waters continues to amaze with his touch and accuracy. Last weekend, in a 73-7 win over Iowa Central, Waters went 28 of 34 for 424 yards and five touchdowns. This season, the sophomore, who has offers from several D-1 schools, has completed 74.4% of his passes for 2,351 yards with 29 touchdowns and only three picks.

Arizona Western QB Tanner McEvoy - McEvoy, a South Carolina bounceback, had an outstanding game last week in Arizona Western's 78-20 win over Mesa going 20 of 23 for 310 yarsd and three scores. The big (6'6", 220 pound) singal-caller has been solid this season thus far, hitting on 64.8% of his passes for 1,267 yards with 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

Butler QB Billy Cosh - Cosh went 35 of 48 for 298 and three touchdowns in Butler's 45-13 win over Coffeyville last week. Cosh, a third-year sophomore, has completed 65.1% of his passes this season for 2,201 yards with 18 touchdowns and six interceptions while leading the Grizzlies to an 8-0 record.

Bakersfield QB Brian Burrell - In Bakersfield's 31-3 win over Moorpark, Burrell hit on 16 of his 23 attempts for 268 yards, one touchdown and one interception. This season Burrell has managed to complete 56.6% of his passes for 1,596 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing for 115 yards and three scores.

Long Beach QB Nick Pope - Pope, a freshman, completed 25 of his 41 passes for 309 yards with four touchdowns and two picks and also rushed for a touchdown as well, but in the end, Long Beach fell to L.A. Harbor 58-41.

Palomar QB Ryan Lamb - The talented freshman had a great game for the Comets, going 25-for-39 355 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for one himself on a quarterback sneak, but Palomar still fell to Fullerton 33-32. Lamb has hit on 54.3% of his passes for 1,458 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

East Los Angeles QB Aaron Cantu - Cantu returned to the lineup for the first time in three weeks after sustaining a shoulder injury and had an outstanding game, completing 34 of 63 passes for 475 yards and a season-high-tying 6 TD passes along with one interception, but ELAC still lost 54-42 to San Bernadino Valley.

San Bernardino QB Ethan Hillyer - Hillyer 168 yards and two touchdowns and also went 18 for 33 passing for 299 yards and three touchdowns as SBVC downed East Los Angeles 54-42.

DeAnza QB Josh McCain - McCain continues to impress with his big-play abilities. This past week in a 35-25 win over Butte, the talented sophomore threw for 346 yards, four touchdowns and one interception to get the victory.

City College of San Francisco QB Andrew Spivey - Spivey, a sophomore, completed 24 of his 33 attempts for 273 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. This season, while leading the top-ranked Rams to a 7-0 record Spivey has hit on 56.5% of his passes for 1,742 yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions.

American River QB Jonathan Kodama - The first-year signal-caller was outstanding last week in the Beavers' 31-21 win over Fresno, completing 25 of his 40 pass attempts for 397 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Kodama has acquitted himself well with the loss of Andy McAlindon to Louisiana Tech following last year's undefeated season, hitting on 52.6% of his passes for 1,479 yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Modesto QB TeeJay Gordon - Gordon was solid for Modesto even though they lost to Sierra 38-33. The sophomore quarterback went 22 of 44 for 339, three touchdowns and one interception in the losing effort. This season, while leading his team to a 4-3 record, Gordon has completed 64.0% of his passes for 1,786 yards with 16 touchdowns and four picks.

Reedley QB Sean Stell - Reedley got a thrilling 52-38 win over Merced last weekend and Stell's play was a big reason why as the talented freshman completed 23 of his 36 pass attempts for 387 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions. This season, Stell has completed 60.2% for 1,515 yards, 15 touchdowns and only seven picks.

Mendocino QB Kyle Harmyk - The sophomore is a big reason the Eagles were able to notch a 56-34 win over Los Medanos last weekend as he went 24 of 43 for 409 yards and six scores. This season he's completed 53.3% of his passes for 1,575 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Chaffey QB Dominick Barnett - Barnett did everything he could to help the Panthers get a win, throwing for 230 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions while also rushing for 124 yards, but Chaffey still fell to Mt. San Jacinto 24-21.

Chabot QB Brandyn Eckhart - The sophomore signal-caller put his team on his back and led them to a thrilling 37-36 win over Laney last weekend by completing 14 of his 23 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 117 yards and another touchdown in the victory.

Northeast Oklahoma QB Clayton Mitchem - Mitchem was named the SWJCFC Offensive Player of the Week after going 17 of 27 for 229 yards and four touchdowns in NEO's 49-21 win over Cisco last weekend.

Blinn QB Garry Kimble - The sophomore has rushed 624 yards and seven scores on 83 carries while also throwing for over 1,300 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven picks so far this season.

West L.A. QB Dallas Lopez - Lopez had a huge day for West L.A. last weekend, going 29 of 49 for 387 yards with two touchdowns and three picks, but his team still fell 45-23 to Antelope Valley.
