(UPDATED 10/30/12) A look at some of the top linebacker performances over the past week and which players are standing out for their team so far this season. This is by no means all-inclusive, but just a snapshot of some of the players who had big-time performances over the weekend...

Kilgore LB Charles Woods - Woods was all over the place last week in the Rangers' 45-24 win over Tyler, posting an amazing 19 tackles to go along with three tackles-for-loss and two interceptions. The instinctive sophomore leads Kilgore in tackles (111), tackles-for-loss (10.5) and forced fumbles (five) while also posting two interceptions.


Snow LB Nik Wolford - In Snow's 48-3 win over Eastern Arizona last week, Wolford had seven tackles and a fumble recovery. In nine games this season, the versatile sophomore has 54 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, three fumble recoveries and three sacks.


Hutchinson LB Brock Long - The freshman had a huge game in Hutchinson's 40-7 loss to Butler last week, posting 11 tackles. So far this season, the talented freshman ranks fourth on the Blue Dragons with 51 tackles while also posting two tackles and 3.5 tackles-for-loss and two forced fumbles.


Butler LB Rahmon Swain - Swain had a solid game for the Grizzlies while helping lead them to a 40-7 win over Hutch, posting nine tackles and one tackle-for-loss in the win. The sophomore ‘backer ranks third on the team in tackles (60) and sacks (4.5) while also posting 7.5 tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.


Hinds LB Mitchell Hoskins - The sophomore linebacker was all over the place for the Eagles last week, posting eight tackles and one tackle-for-loss in Hinds' 26-16 win over Pearl River. Hoskins has 65 tackles, which leads the team, and has also posted one sack, seven tackles-for-loss, one fumble and one fumble recovery.


Louisburg LB Patrick McElveen - The sophomore isn't the biggest player on the team, but he played huge last week in the Hurricanes' 45-6 loss to Nassau, posting nine tackles (seven solo), 2.5 sacks and seven tackles-for-loss. McElveen ranks fourth on the team with 47 tackles, while leading the team in tackles-for-loss with 15 and sacks with 5.5.


Iowa Western LB Terrell Porter - Porter posted 13 tackles and a tackle-for-loss last week in Iowa Western's 65-14 win over Ellsworth. The sophomore leads the Reivers in tackles with 82 while also posting 7.5 tackles-for-loss, one interception and one sack.


Ellsworth LB Robert Taylor Jr. - The freshman did all he could to keep his team close, posting 13 tackles and two tackles-for-loss, but Ellsworth still fell to Iowa Western, 65-14. In six games this season, Taylor Jr. has posted 25 tackles and four tackles-for-loss.


Northeastern Oklahoma A&M LB Jon Bullock - Last week, in the Golden Norsemen's thrilling 26-24 win over Navarro, Bullock posted 11 tackles, one sack and one tackle-for-loss. The NEO coaches couldn't be more pleased with the talented redshirt sophomore's leaadership and productivity this season -- 72 tackles (41 solo), two sacks, eight tackles-for-loss, and two forced fumbles. Definitely a player to keep an eye on in the next few weeks as recruiting kicks into gear.


Santa Monica LB Ben Brown- Brown racked up 12 Tackles (five solo) and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in Santa Monica's 41-27 win over Santa Barbara las weekend. The sophomore has 46 tackles and four tackles-for-loss on the season.


East Los Angeles LB Donyae Olton - The sophomore linebacker posted six tackles, two sacks and four tackles-for-loss East L.A.'s 40-27 win over Chaffey last week. In seven games this season, Olton has accounted for 31 tackles, four sacks and six tackles-for-loss.


Allan Hancock LB Bryan Aiwohi - The sophomore who his a native of Hawaii, logged 10 tackles and a fumble recovery, but the Bulldogs still lost to Ventura by a score of 31-24. Aiwohi leads Allan Hancock in tackles with 81, while also posting two sacks, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and one interception.


Bakersfield LB Grant Campbell - Campbell posted 10 tackles to lead the Gades in a 21-14 win over Cerritos last Saturday. For the season, the freshman has totaled a team-leading 61 tackles to go along with two tackles-for-loss and three passes defensed.


Ventura LB P.J. Gremaud - Gremaud continues to put up huge numbers for the undefeated Pirates, posting 15 tackles in Ventura's 31-24 win over Allan Hancock. The middle linebacker leads his team in tackles with 64 while also posting, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 fumble recoveries and two interceptons.


Palomar LB Shonta Chaloux - Saddleback dropped Palomar to 3-5 on the season with a 35-21 win over the Comets, but Chaloux did his best to keep his team close, posting 10 tackles on the day. For the season, the sophomore has logged 49 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and two interceptions.


Orange Coast LB Frank Chambers - Chambers was all over the place last week, posting 14 tackles and a fumble recovery, but the Pirates still dropped to 3-6 with a 23-21 loss to Golden West. This season the freshman has posted 50 tackles, one sack, 7.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery.


Grossmont LB Ian Seau - Seau had eight tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one forced fumble, but Grossmont still dropped the game, losing 38-31 to Fullerton. The sohpomore has had an amazing season so far, posting a team-leading 64 tackles to go along with a state-leading 18 sacks and 23.5 tackles-for-loss, while helping to lead the Griffs to a 5-3 record.


Southwestern LB Khaali Abdullah - The Jags beat a good Mt. San Jacinto squad last week, 21-7 and Abdullah's play was a big reason why as the talented freshman posted eight stops. This season Abdullah has 35 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles-for-loss.


Contra Costa LB Keenan Coogler - The Comets got a 41-38 win over Mendocino last week and Coogler led the way on defense, totaling 11 tackles and three tackles-for-loss.


Yuba LB Max Flores - Flores posted two tackles and two sacks in Yuba's 34-22 win over Shasta last week. The sophomore leads Yuba in sacks with 8.5 while also posting 28 tackles and 10 tackles-for-loss.


Foothill LB Jarom Baldomero - The freshman put up an amazing 17 tackles to go along with a sack, one tackle-for-loss and a forced fumble in the Owls' 51-13 loss to top-ranked City College of San Francisco last week. Baldomero leads Foothill in tackles with 83 and also has 1.5 sacks, six tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and two interceptions this season.


Butte LB John Batnich - The sophomore helped lead the Roadrunners to a 19-17 win over College of San Mateo last week, posting seven tackles, a sack and two tackles-for-loss in the victory. In eight games, Batnich has 49 tackles and three sacks to go along with a forced fumble.


San Joaquin Delta LB David Holley - Holley racked up 18 tackles and a tackle-for-loss in Delta's heart-breaking 31-28 loss to Fresno last week.


Sierra LB Luke Arciniega - Arciniega was a key contributor in Sierra's 23-22 win over College of the Sequoias, posting 10 tackles, two sacks and four tackles-for-loss. The sophomore is versatile and an ever-down linebacker for the Wolverines, ranking second on the team with 60 tackles while also posting 2.5 sacks, 15 tackles-for-loss, two forced fumbles and five passes defensed while helping to lead his team to a 4-4 record.
