Johnson will visit three schools in January

El Camino LB Auston Johnson (6-1, 245) is one of the top JUCO linebackers in the country and he has several schools looking to bring him in on visits next month. JCFootball.com got the scoop on which three schools he plans to visit as well as how his sophomore season went...

"We definitely didn't do was well as we had hoped, but overall, I felt I did pretty good and improved," Johnson told JCFootball.com recently. "I got stronger and I put up some good numbers (97 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles-for-loss) and I felt like I improved from my freshman season."

On the recruiting front, Johnson has schools from all over looking at him, but three have stood out enough to get visits set up.

"I was supposed to visit a school this season, but that fell through and it was sorta frustrating, so until I get my itineraries, I'm not talking about the dates yet, but I will visit BYU, New Mexico and Memphis next month," Johnson said. "All of them have been recruiting me pretty hard and I want to see their schools to get an idea of what they have to offer."

Johnson is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two following the 2012 football season.
