Powell still listening to schools

Snow WR Damond Powell (5-11, 175), likely the most explosive JUCO wideout in the country this season, chose Iowa earlier this month and while he told us he remains strongly committed to the Hawkeyes, he also admitted there is a chance he could take some more visits...

"I really liked it there and felt like it was the right place for me," Powell answered when asked about his decision to commit to Iowa. "I like the coaches a lot and feel it is a great offense that I can be part of and make a difference."

In addition to his offer from Iowa, Powell also has an offer from Ohio and several other schools have continued to come after him.

"I've been hearing from Memphis, Illinois and Minnesota and a couple of other schools too," Powell said. "I might take visits to them. I'm really not sure right now. I like where I'm committed and I don't want to screw that up, but at the same time, I need to make sure I've made the right decision."

As one of the top JUCO wideouts in the country, Powell hauled in 41 receptions for 1,231 yards and 14 touchdowns and helped lead the Badgers to an 11-1 record.

"I just did what I could to help my team win," Powell said. "I had a good year, but you always feel you can do better."

Powell is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he signs.
