Freeman has game, will travel

This season, Itawamba LB Quad Freeman (6-1.5, 222) proved to be one of the more explosive JUCO linebackers in the country, filling up the stat sheet for the Indians all season. Now, over a month removed from the end of his sophomore season, the talented defensive prospect has four offers to his name and he thinks more schools could have offered over the holiday break...

"I have offers from Delta State, Texas-San Antonio, North Alabama and Texas Southern," Freeman told JCFootball.com. "I haven't talked to my coaches yet since I got back (from winter break), so I'm not really sure if more schools have offered, but I know there were some that were pretty interested me."

As a sophomore this past season, Freeman posted 78 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss from his inside spot.

"I'm comfortable playing either inside or outside, but I prefer outside just because you can run free and just flow and make plays," Freeman noted. "Last offseason I really worked on my speed and weight room stuff and I think that helped me a lot this year.

"I wanted to have the best season I could and I think that really helped me."

Freeman prepped at Saltillo (Ms.) High School and was unable to qualify so he wound up heading to ICC.

"They were honestly the only one I was hearing from and they offered me a scholarship, so I came and took advantage of my opportunity," Freeman said. "It's been a great experience for me this year. I loved it and I have had a great time here."

Freeman is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he winds up.
