Nassau's Johnson has four offers

A JUCO player starting to pop up on recruiting radars is Nassau CB Antoine Johnson (5-11, 170). After a solid sophomore season, he has four offers to his name and more schools could jump in very soon. caught up with the emerging prospect recently and he updated us on where things stand...

Johnson enjoyed a solid prep career in Washington D.C. before heading up to Nassau to continue his football career.

"My grades were what held me back," Johnson told "I had good test scores, but my grades weren't where I needed them to be. After looking at things, I decided to come here to Nassau to play and it's been a good experience."

As a sophomore this past season, Johnson totaled 24 tackles, four interceptions and a team-leading five passes defensed.

"I love playing man-to-man," Johnson said. "I love just playing bump-and-run and competing right up against the best receiver on the other team."

With his solid cover skills, quickness and speed, Johnson has popped up on some four-year schools' radars and he will be visiting a couple of them this month.

"I have offers from UCF, Temple, Western Michigan and Middle Tennessee," Johnson noted. "I'm visiting Western Michigan on the 18th and I'll visit Temple on the Monday (January 14th)."

Johnson said he is also hearing from Maryland and a few other schools as well.

HE is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
