Yuba tailback talks recruiting

Yuba RB Juan Johnson (5-10, 198) finished second in the state in rushing, but he's still looking for a home. The instinctive runner has a few offers to his name and has at least two more visits planned and he recently updated JCFootball.com on where things stand...

"I have offers from Northern Colorado, Middle Tennessee, Bethune-Cookman and I'm hoping to get an offer from Texas State," Johnson told JCFootball.com recently. "I'm visiting Bethune-Cookman on January 25th and I've been talking with Texas State about visiting on February 1st.

"I was thinking I was going to visit Middle Tennessee this weekend, but I haven't been able to firm things up with them."

Last weekend, Johnson visited Northern Colorado and came away impressed.

"Honestly, it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be," Johnson said. "I had a good time and liked that staff a lot."

As a freshman in 2011, Johnson lead Yuba to a 7-4 record by rushing for nearly 1,250 yards and eight touchdowns and this past fall he posted 1,666 yards and 15 scores even though he missed two games with an ankle injury.

"I had a good season and felt like I did all I could," Johnson said. "I missed the Feather River game and most of the Contra Costa game, so I think I could have put up bigger numbers if I could have played in those games."

Johnson is on pace to graduate in May and he will have three years to play two wherever he ends up.
