Allison is a rising star in the JUCO ranks

With three offers already to his name, Iowa Western WR Geronimo Allison (6-3, 180) is a rising star in the JUCO ranks. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented wideout recently and he updated us on which three schools have offered and what sets him apart from other players on the field...

"At my size, people think all I can do is be a jump ball guy, but I feel like I can do stuff that guys smaller than me and bigger than me can do too," Allison told JCFootball.com. "Like I can take a quick hitch pass and turn it into a long touchdown or I can go down the field and use my body to out-physical a DB. I do what I have to do to make plays for my team."

As a freshman in 2012, Allison posted 26 receptions for 428 yards and two touchdowns while playing behind BCS-bound wideouts like Deon Long (Maryland) and Martize Barr (Illinois). This year, he will be one of the featured receivers in the Reivers' attack and he's preparing to take on a bigger role.

"I definitely want to add more size and to get stronger," Allison said. "My coaches have been working with me on a program to do that and I'm following it."

On the recruiting front, Allison already has offers from three schools and another school has definitely been showing him a lot of interest.

"I have offers right now from Louisiana Tech, Utah State and Illinois and South Florida has been talking to me a lot too," Allison said. "I know a lot more schools will come through this spring, so I will hopefully have more schools looking at me so I can have some options before I make my decision."

' Allison graduated from Spoto (Riverview, Fl.) High School and knew early on he wouldn't be able to qualify, so he decided to head to Iowa Western to get his academics straight and to prepare for the next level.

"They offered and when I checked them out, it was just the right fit," Allison said. "I could get away from the distractions and just play ball and go to school. It's helped me a lot and the coaches have been great."

With his academics in order, Allis is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
