Two schools are after Snow's Denucci

One Conference USA school has offered Snow C Darren Denucci (6-4, 290) and a Big 10 school could be close to getting in the mix for the talented lineman who plans to make a decision very soon. JCFootball.com got the scoop on where things stand and why he's just now popping up on the radar...

Denucci graduated from Bountiful (Ut.) High School and signed with Weber State, but then, after taking his mission and some coaching changes, he decided he needed a fresh start, so he headed to Snow to get his football career restarted.

"I am a natural center and that's what I came here as, but they needed me at tackle, so I played left tackle last year," Denucci told JCFootball.com. "I just did what my team needed me to do and played where I was needed."

On the recruiting front, Denucci was expected to return this fall, so no one was really recruiting him, but then his film got out and he started to hear from a couple of schools and on Thursday he received an offer to sign this spring.

"I was planning to return this fall, but a couple of schools have started to look at me and I just got an offer from Southern Miss and I'm officially visiting there next weekend," Denucci said. "I've also been talking to Illinois and they seem close to offering, but they want to wait until their spring practices are over so I'm going to wait and see what happens with them.

"Both of them want me at center so I think it would be a good fit at either school."

Wherever Denucci signs he will have three years to play three.

We will continue to keep tabs on his progress and we will update news as it happens with him.
