Crosby locks it down for Snow

One of the rising JUCO defensive back prospects this year is Snow CB Lee Crosby (6-0, 186) and JCFootball.com recently caught up with him to get the scoop on where recruiting stands and what he's been up to so far this offseason...

"I had a good season (in 2012), but I'm working a lot of my footwork and stuff like that," Crosby told JCFootball.com. "I also want to get faster because if you want to play D-1 ball you have to get as fast as you can be. I ran a 4.49 last year, but I want to get down to like a 4.4 and with the training I've been doing, I'm pretty confident I can get down there."

As a freshman this past season, Crosby totaled 12 tackles and one interception while playing in the nickle and dime packages for the Badgers.

"I've played both corner and nickle safety for us," Crosby noted. "I like to play man-to-man, but I can play zone too. I like getting up into the receivers' faces and be physical. It's the most fun part of playing the game."

With his size and coverage skills, Crosby is already on the radar of several four-year schools and he has offers from two of them.

"Right now my two offers are from Notre Dame College in Ohio and Simon Frazier up in Canada," Crosby said. "They both want me to come in this fall, but I really want to wait and see what else comes in.

"Utah, Utah State, BYU, Southeast Missouri, Purdue, Wagner and Cincinnati have all been calling and asking about me and they are showing me some interest, but right now, none of them have offered."

As a prep, Crosby enjoyed a solid career at Baltimore (Md.) City High School, but he was unable to qualify for a scholarship.

"I had family and friends out here already and it just seemed like a good place to be," Crosby said. "The coaches here are great and the program is really well-known as always putting people into four-year programs, so I felt like it was the right move."

As far as academics, Crosby has been on top of things and is expected to graduate in December. He will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
