Three CSM D-Linemen will be available soon

It's the same story every season, talented JUCO prospects go unnoticed during the spring and are still looking for homes as May begins to draw to a close. That is the situation for three College of San Mateo defensive linemen -- Valentino Coleman, Tu'u Liu and Justin Barlow -- and whoever decides to take a chance on them could be getting themselves some serious gems...

DE/DT Valentino Coleman - Coleman is versatile, able to play inside or outside, depending on the scheme and situation. He's strong at the point of attack, he runs very well and he's a pretty good athlete. He's probably a better fit as a strongside defensive end or as a five-tech in a 3-4 scheme.

2012 Stats: 62 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, 1 forced fumble

DE Tu'u Liu - Due to CMS's depth along the defensive line, Liu didn't see as many reps as you'd expect, but he's a solid athlete and he's got good strength. Probably a better fit at a lower-level four-year program where he could really maximize his potential.

2012 Stats: 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

NT/DT Justin Barlow - One thing that CSM's defense relies upon is someone to hold down the nose tackle spot, allowing their athletic linebackers to run and make plays. That's exactly what Barlow did. He's got enough athleticism to be a three-tech, but he's a better fit on the nose or as a shade tackle between the guard and center.

2012 Stats: 14 tackles, 1 sack, 4 tackle-for-loss, 1 forced fumble
