New offers for Bentley

After a solid spring, schools have come calling for Itawamba WR Jarvis Bentley (6-5, 200). He's already gotten four offers and more could be on the way. JCFootball.com got the latest on the talented wideout's recruiting recently and talked about a timeline for a decision...

"Right now my offers are from Troy, South Alabama, Southern Miss and North Texas and I've been hearing a lot from Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee and Kansas State," Bentley told JCFootball.com over the weekend. "It's been busy with all of the schools coming by, talking to me, sending me stuff, with school and with football, it wears on you, but it's a good problem to have."

As a redshirt freshman last season, Bentley hauled in 37 receptions for 297 yards and a score.

"I want to improve in everything," Bentley said. "I'm working on my strength, my speed, my routes, my hands and everything else that will help me become a better player and allow me to help my team win a state championship."

Bentley enjoyed a solid prep career at Carver (Columbus, Ga.) High School and signed with the University of Massachusetts, but things didn't work out and he wanted to get a fresh start, so he chose the Indians.

"After I spent a year (at UMASS), I just felt like I needed to give playing at the highest level another chance, so I came here to Itawamba," Bentley admitted. "We have good coaches here and we play against some of the best competition in the country every week, so I think it's getting me ready for what I want to ultimately do and that's play BCS ball."

Bentley is on pace to graduate in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2013 football season.
