Harrison makes his decision

Less than 24 hours after receiving an offer from Oregon, Contra Costa CB Dominique Harrison (5-11, 185) decided he'd seen and heard enough and committed to the Ducks this morning...

"I called coach (John) Neal this morning and I told him I was ready to commit to Oregon," Harrison told JCFootball.com. "He was really excited to have me and that he was really eager to get me there to play for them.

"I'm going to call coach (Nick) Aliotti tonight and talk to him about it too."

Harrison chose the Ducks over offers from Arizona State and Idaho as well as interest from other SEC, Big Ten and Pac 12 programs.

"The situation there was just right for me," Harrison noted. "It's an opportunity for me to play right away or, if I am not better than the guys they have there, I can redshirt and be ready to play in 2015, but I plan on playing next fall (2014) for them."

Harrison finished his freshman season with 15 tackles, four interceptions and 16 passes defensed.

He expects to graduate in December and will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
