JCFootball.com Recruiting Blog - 6/17

In today's Recruiting Blog, we continue our look at some of the top prospects in the JUCO ranks this summer by looking at several players who continue to haul in offers as well as those that have plenty already and are starting to think about visiting differect schools...

Grossmont WR Nick Kurtz - Kurtz continues to be one of the hottest wide receiver prospects in the nation, hauling in his ninth offer, this one from Kansas State, over the weekend and seeing interest pick up from Oregon. As a freshman last fall, Kurtz totaled 49 receptions for 697 yards and 10 touchdowns and with his long, angular frame he's grabbed quite a few schools' attention.

Mississippi Gulf Coast S/CB Josh Keys - Keys is a new name in recruiting circles, but schools from all over have known about him for a while. He's gotten offers from almost the entire SEC as well as some Big 12 schools and with his versatility (he could play corner or safety at the next level), expect even more schools to throw their hats in the ring very soon.

Riverside OT Dominique Robertson - Robertson has two offers right now -- Fresno State and Texas Tech -- but you can expect that number to increase exponentially over the next few weeks as interest from schools across the country has started to hit a fever pitch. Schools from the Pac 12, Big 12 and Big Ten came by Riverside during the spring and with Robertson's outstanding size and athleticism, he's a prospect whose stock is really climbing right now.

Arizona Western DE Anthony Olobia - Olobia's stock has shot through the roof in recent weeks as Texas Tech and Utah have both offered and more schools like Washington, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue and Arkansas have all shown lots of interest in the talented and athletic defensive end. Olobia posted 25 tackles, four sacks, seven tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery as a freshman in 2012.

Nassau LB Keeon Virgile - Virgile is a bounceback from North Carolina. As a redshirt freshman with Nassau last year he totaled 34 tackles, four tackles-for-loss and an interception from his middle linebacker spot. Virgile is getting attention from schools in the ACC, specifically Maryland and North Carolina State, but he's also been haring from schools in the SEC and the Big Ten as well.

Mesa (Az.) DT Claude Pelon - Pelon's versatility has made him one of the more intriguing players on the board this year. He recently received an offer from Wisconsin, making that nine schools (Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida State, Indiana, South Florida, USC and Washington) that have extended him an offer. He's got the size to play inside, but with his athleticism and length, he could also play outside in a 3-4 defensive scheme as well.

El Camino TE Jean Sifrin - Sifrin has just started to pop up on radars over the past couple of weeks and has hauled in offers from Oklahoma, USC, Utah and Kansas. Last weekend he visited Kansas and word is that things went well. Once we are able to catch up with him we can get a better read on where things stand with him. However, there is no denying he's an intriguing prospect with his size (6'7", 250) as well as his athleticism.
