ASA's Medor is an intriguing prospect

Once again, ASA is loaded with talent and along the offensive line, OL Rotchill Medor (6-6, 325) is one of it's more versatile prospects. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented lineman recently and he updated us on where things currently stand as well as what he's been up to this offseason...

Rotchill enjoyed a solid prep career at Lincoln High School in Brooklyn (NY). He was unable to qualify for a scholarship to a D-1 program, so he signed with D-2 Southern Connecticut State and redshirted there in 2011.

"I knew I could play at a higher level and I just decided that coming here to ASA was my best opportunity to give that a chance to happen," Medor told JCFootball.com.

As a redshirt freshman last season, Medor started five games at right guard and saw time in the Avengers' other games at multiple positions.

"I'm a pretty good run-blocker, but I feel I can do both (run and pass-block) pretty well," Medor noted. "This offseason I've been working a lot on my agility and speed. I've been doing a lot of ladder drills and footwork drills and cone drills. It'll help me in the long run."

Recruiting, at least to this point, has been spotty for Medor, but he's hopeful a good season warrants more attention and garners him some offers.

"The schools I've talked to the most are Kentucky, Syracuse and Maryland," Medor said. "Syracuse and Maryland both said they want to see more of my film, so that is something they will probably need to wait and see after the first few games."

Medor is on pace to finish up his two-year degree in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
