Fanfan wants to make an impact

After taking a year off to take care of some personal things, ASA TE Marvin Fanfan (6-2, 245) is ready to make his mark on the Avengers' offense this fall. His hope is that a big season on the field will result in some four-year schools giving him a long look...

"Last year I didn't play because I had some personal stuff to take care of, so I sat out last year," Fanfan told JCFootball.com. "I took part in spring ball here and some teams saw me and liked me, but they want to see me this fall in games before they offer."

Some of the schools showing Fanfan interest during the spring were Oklahoma, Kansas, Rutgers, Akron, South Florida and Utah State.

"Utah State sounds like they are close to offering me, but I think they probably want to see the first three games before they do anything," Fanfan noted.

At 6'2 and weighing 245 pounds, Fanfan is an ideal fit as a receiving tight end, but he said he wants to be the total package and with that in mind he's worked extra hard on his blocking.

"I'm probably a more natural as a receiver, but I've improved a lot as a blocker since I got to ASA," Fanfan said. "It's all about hard work and effort and I've improved a lot as a blocker and just as an overall player since I got here."

As far as when he will finish up his academic work, Fanfan is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play three following the 2013 football season.
