Kurtz posted on his Facebook page that a "1000 lb weight has been lifted off my back," he said about two hours ago. "I'm officially committed to BYU and I couldn't be happier."
Kurtz chose BYU over offers from Oregon, San Jose State, Illinois, Texas Tech, California, Kentucky, Illinois, Utah State and Akron.
As a freshman this past fall, Kurtz totaled 49 receptions for 697 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He will be eligible to sign with a school in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
JCFootball.com will have more on this breaking story after we reach Kurtz to get his thoughts and comments on his decision.
