JUCO Players to Watch - Guards

As we continue our look at some of the top JUCO players at each position, we turn our attention to the interior of the offensive line, specifically the guard position, where there are some very talented and intriguing prospects that either have some early offers or are on the cusp of seeing their recruitment blow up...

**Note: This is merely a list of some of the top JUCO offensive guards and is by no means a comprehensive or complete list of the prospects available in this class.

Lackawanna OG Jarell Broxton - Broxton has the size and athleticism to play tackle, but he's got All-American potential on the inside and that is why schools from all over came calling. He eventually chose Baylor over offers from a handful of schools and plans to enroll there following the 2013 football season.

Status: Committed to Baylor
Tyler OG Frank Kee - Key is a great looking prospect who plays with a lot of aggressiveness and is one of the best drive-blockers in the country. At 6'4" and 350 pounds, he's a mountain of a man, but don't sleep on his athleticism. He can pull and get down field to the second level with the best of them. Kee chose TCU back in June over offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss and Texas Tech.

Status: Committed to TCU
Hinds OG Norman Price - Price is another guard prospect that has the size and athleticism to play tackle if the need arises, but most feel he's a better fit inside where his power and strength will be a huge asset in the running game. The sophomore chose Mississippi State back in June over offers from Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Missouri and Troy and was getting interest from several other schools including Arkansas, South Alabama and Texas State.

Status: Committed to Mississippi State
Coffeyville OG Hayden Chandler - Chandler is big and physical and, at 6'3" and 300 pounds, he's got the size to be a real factor for the Red Ravens this fall. The sophomore is still looking for his first offer, but he's seen a lot of interest from the likes of Baylor, Kentucky, Memphis, Missouri, North Carolina State, North Texas, Ohio, Georgia State and South Alabama.

Status: Uncommitted
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M OG Derrick Crawford - After a solid season for the Golden Norsemen as a freshman last fall, Crawford is still waiting for an offer but he's seen heavy interest from Arkansas, Arkansas State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa. Expect the sophomore to be one of the top guards in the SWJCFC this fall and for him to be a leader on the NEO offensive line.

Status: Uncommitted
Itawamba OT Brandon Jones - We love Jones and what he brings to the table. So much so, that we included him in our tackle projections a week ago. That being said, Jones might be a better fit inside and if that's the case, he should be one of the top JUCO guards in the country. Jones earned All-MACJC honors for his efforts as a freshman in 2012 and that drew an early offer from Middle Tennessee and has garnered him some early interest from Iowa State, Memphis, South Florida, Louisiana-Lafayette, Troy and Western Kentucky.

Status: Uncommitted
North Dakota State OG Cody Northway - At 6'6" and 310 pounds, Northway is a huge prospect with great feet and a long wingspan. He too could play outside if called upon, but most schools like his potential inside. Northway is still waiting on some offers and his list of interested schools has increased by a few to five including Auburn, Southern Illinois, Temple, Texas State and Utah State.

Status: Uncommitted
New Mexico Military OG Adrian Saterfield - Saterfield is a strong inside blocker, but he's also very cerebral, so head coach Joe Forchtner and his staff have moved him to center. With that in mind, we still feel Saterfield will wind up at guard at the next level and he's a player who will climb up recruiting lists in the coming weeks and months as schools get a look at what he can do on the field from the pivot.

Status: Uncommitted
Butler OG Parker Whitney - Whitney has a chance to be one of the top interior players in the Jayhawk conference this season and he's already got schools like Southern Illinois, Florida International and Georgia State interested in what he can do. With a good start to his season, expect Whitney to wind up with several offers to choose from when he's ready to sign in December.

Status: Uncommitted
Coahoma OG Terrance Williams - Coahoma has some very talented prospects up front this fall and one that is still waiting for his first offer is Williams. That being said, several schools including Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss and at 6'3" and 310 pounds, he's an impressive looking prospect with outstanding strength and quickness.

Status: Uncommitted
Blinn OG Alex Mitchell - Mitchell signed with Washington State after graduating from high school, but he was unable to get qualified, so he decided to head to Blinn where he'll play on the offensive line for the Buccaneers. Mitchell has immense strength and surprising athleticism for a young man who measures in at 6'3" and weighs 320 pounds. Expect schools to be all over him once they get a look at his progress toward his degree as well as what he can do on the field.

Status: Uncommitted
Blinn OG Donovan Williams - The Bucs feature two big-time guards this season and Williams has already drawn quite a bit of early attention with schools like Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Oklahoma State all making inquiries. He too plays with a physicality that coaches drool over and he'll see his stock soar with a good start to the 2013 season.

Status: Uncommitted
Navarro OG Conrad Greene - Green is one of the most athletic and biggest interior linemen in the SWJCFC and he's already getting a lot of interest from schools like Illinois, Kent State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech and Arizona State among others. Expect him to be one of the top guards in the conference this fall and for him to have a handful of offers sooner rather than later.

Status: Uncommitted
Chaffey OG Kaige Lawrence - Arizona liked Lawrence so much that they offered the talented guard very early in the process and he jumped on the offer from the Wildcats almost immediately. Lawrence is a perfect fit for what Arizona wants to do and he should be a mainstay in their offense for his junior and senior seasons.

Status: Committed to Arizona
Pasadena OG Raul Martinez - Martinez could play almost anywhere along the offensive line and he's seen his recruitment hit a fever pitch over the past couple of months with offers from Cincinnati, Utah State and Michigan State as well as interest from schools in the Pac 12 and Big 12 as well. Martinez shows great quickness and aggressiveness from his spot along Pasadena's offensive line and he could wind up being one of the steals of the recruiting class if he reaches his full potential.

Status: Uncommitted
Riverside OG Kenny Armstrong - It's no secret that the Tigers have a lot of talent and this year, they have some very talented offensive lineman who are drawing a lot of early attention. Armstrong is a very strong blocker at the point of attack and he's super-aggressive in the way he goes about his business. The talented sophomore has offers from Fresno State and Sacramento State and he's getting looks from Kansas, Kansas State, New Mexico State, San Diego, Texas State and Tulsa.

Status: Uncommitted
Diablo Valley OG Kelepi Folau - Idaho and Memphis were the first two schools to offer Folau and he's seen a lot of interest from Boise State, California, Colorado State, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Memphis, Oregon State and South Florida. He's a strong run-blocker and he's able to handle nose tackles and big defensive tackles on his own when called upon.

Status: Uncommitted
Grossmont OG Ryan Krum - Krum played some at center for the Griffs in 2012, but he'll move out to guard this fall. He's still waiting on his first offer, but Baylor, Georgia State, Illinois, Kentucky, San Diego State, San Jose State, Texas Tech, UNLV, USC and Utah State have all been in contact.

Status: Uncommitted
Butte OG Tre Tablit - Tablit is a big and physical guard. He's naturally strong (410 pound bench) and he'll be a real asset to what the Roadrunners are trying to do this fall in their running game. Tablit doesn't have an offer yet, but he's been hearing from Idaho, San Diego State, Weber State, Utah and UNLV.

Status: Uncommitted
Fullerton OG Bubba Baldwin - Baldwin is one of the leaders along the Hornets' offensive line. He's big (6'3", 320) and very physical. Expect recruiting to pick up over the next couple of months as four-year schools venture out to see what he can do in live game action.

Status: Uncommitted
L.A. Pierce OG Jordan Barge - Barge is a huge prospect with a lot of upside. Texas Tech likes him a lot, but he's still waiting on an offer from the Red Raiders. Expect more schools to get in the mix once they see the 6'5", 325-pounder in action the first month of the season.

Status: Uncommitted
Mt. San Antonio OG Shaquille Davis - Davis is the next in a long line of Mountie offensive linemen. He's 6'4" and close to 300 pounds and he's got the ability to slide outside if necessary.

Status: Uncommitted
Antelope Valley OG Joe Grant - Grant is a preseason All-American type player and has drawn attention from schools like Georgia State, Illinois, Marshall, Texas State, USC, Utah and Utah State. Grant is one of the most physical interior linemen in the country and that has four-year schools eyeing his talents.

Status: Uncommitted
Ventura OG Ralphie Martinez - Martinez can play guard or center, but we expect him to be a better guard prospect. Fresno State, Georgia State and San Jose State all have given him a long look and you can expect more schools to come into the picture with a good start to the season.

Status: Uncommitted
