Big Ten offer rolls in for Moore

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M S Devron Moore (6-1, 190) got some good news late last night when his coach told him he had received an offer from a Big Ten program. caught up with the talented safety prospect and he updated us on which school became the second to offer him and which programs could be getting close to extending a full-ride...

"My coach got a call from Illinois and they said they were offering me," Moore told "I had started talking to them about a week ago and they told me the other day they were just going over my transcripts and making sure I was okay on that part. Last night they called my coach and told him I had an offer and today he talked to me and said I had one."

The offer from the Illini joins Middle Tennessee in offering the talented safety and more schools have been approaching him about their interest of late.

"Georgia State is real close to offering me. I've talked to them a lot," Moore noted. "I've also talked to Texas State, Appalachian State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Georgia Southern too.

"All of the schools that like me want me to visit soon, but we really don't have an off week, so it's looking like most of my officials will come in November."

As a freshman last season, Moore totaled 78 tackles with seven interceptions for the Golden Norseman from his free safety spot and he's planning on an even better sophomore campaign, but he sat out last week's game, a 47-14 win over Highland, with a minor injury.

"I tweaked my ankle the day before the game and my coaches decided to have me sit so I could be 100% for this weekend when we play Coffeyville," Moore said.

He is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
